You choose the topic

I have a million topics I could write about. What do y'all want to talk about? Are there questions that you want answered? Homebirth, circumcision, solid foods, doulas (labor support), ultrasound, breastfeeding, induction, relaxation, emergency childbirth, children at birth, VBACs. Name your topic. This will be fun!

Hi Donna!! I choose two - VBAC's and what about the difference between CNM & CPM's?! (Did ya guess I'd pick these?) :)
I'm really enjoying your blog...

what are some of the common myths that doctors tell us. I am also fascinated at the many things you can go without doing. Like the no ultrasound thing. What else is there you can go without?

I think you should cover circucision. I think that most people never even consider leaving their sons intact, and rarely make an informed decision.

I would like to talk about solid foods since I'm getting ready to introduce those to my daughter. I want to make sure not to compromise breastfeeding since I plan to continue breastfeeding until she's at least 1 year old. She'll be 6 months soon. Also, is it ok if I wait until I'm ready or is 6 months the magic time? And, just any other useful information on that topic would be wonderful since you are my chosen expert. =)

Randi-
I will post about solid foods, but it might be a bit until I get to it. I talk a lot about this in my Breastfeeding class, which you have a DVD of. Look it up and let me know if you have any other questions. How's your new sling?

Oh gosh, had to share this great quote I ran across studying tonight...
"It is a curious commentary on our society that we tolerate all degrees of explicitness in our literature and mass media as regards sex and violence, but the normal act of breastfeeding is taboo"

WOW. This makes me want to go to Target tomorrow and sit down in the middle of the store and breastfeed my 13 month old. Among all the adverts of sexual advertising... Isn't it so screwed up how Americans will embrace strippers on billboards and boobies and nipples popping out at you on the TV screen, but the act of loving and nurturing your child from your breasts is something looked down upon, you get made fun of for it and is considered "taboo"??

To mothers everywhere who have nurtured and nourished your babies from your boobies, I give you a 2 thumbs up. To me you are heroes and deserve gold medals.

Breastfeeding is beautiful.

goodnight!

I'll find that section on the DVD and watch it tonight! Last time I watched it I probably skipped that part because I was more focused on breastfeeding.
The sling is great! I love wearing my baby and I always get comments on how happy she looks.

Let's talk about Homebirths!!!! I miss being pregnant so much, I can't wait to do it again. Even though we had total NCB, I want to experience Natural Pregnancy. What I mean by that is just, the joy of not going to the doc, not getting an ultrasound and all the testing. I feel like I missed some joy of finding out the sex of our baby. I can't wait to experience the joy of totally giving into the femininity and beauty of what is happening and embracing the experience as naturally and organic as possible!!!!!!!!

Can you post about post partem birth control?

I was given progesterone only pills that dried up my milk supply, they are generally regarded as safe for breastfeeding mothers but my milk supply crashed and burned because of it - to the point where my daughter had failure to thrive and my father started calling my daughter 'concentration camp baby', she got so frightfully thin in only 3 weeks, it was terrifying. Am I the only women this has happened to?
